Our objective of week 2 was to use build camera obscura and see what
images we managed to to get ourselves.
Camera obscura is where you have to
cover all the windows in the room with something that completely stops light coming in, ideally black plastic,
or tin foil. This will be to stop any light coming in from the outside to
achieve complete darkness in the room. You will need then to cut a round circle out, roughly the shape of a
penny or maybe a two pence piece. Turn the light out and hopefully you will get
a upside down projected image of outside into the room, onto the wall or maybe the
ceiling. If you want, you could also put a plain white board aways from the hole on the windows and the images may be projected onto the board.
We ended up putting a glass lens over the hole on the windows and using tracing paper for the image to project onto.
It is better if the
room has plain white walls as it helps the image to be clean, for when you take a
picture of it.
This is the result of the camera obscura, here are the results: (it didn't turn out well due to the day we was doing it on so this is the best picture)
